Power in " Heroes "
-
I thought it was fictional , but people do have it
-
A clip from the show " Heroes ", sound synesthesia
Draft idea
-
Story(emotions) told by music
-
Four Basic Emotions (happy, sad, afraid/surprised, and angry/disgusted)
-
Music–color associations are mediated by emotion
-
Nonsynesthetic people also have music-to-color associations but do not actually experience colors while hearing music. Relatively low-level sound-to-color associations—e.g., higher pitches being associated with lighter colors
Synesthesia
-
Umbrella term
-
There are others
-
Psychedelic drug to cause side effects

What is it like to see sounds?
Sound design
-
Look for online classes
-
Using GarageBand
-
Find books in library for beginner
Example in films
Ratatouille
-
Besides " Heroes " displaying synesthetic, it was also in Ratatouille. I watched it long ago and didn't notice this since in animations there are included imaginary happenings. But actually Remy can hear sounds when tasting.

Idea
-
Four Seasons( spring, summer, autumn and winter) , Four emotions
-
To show the transition of emotions and process
-
A story about 2 people, from friendship to longing relationship, nostalgic & heartbreak.
Learning
-
I watched several videos on how to use GarageBand to make music, I found without a plug-in keyboard the other way is to make use of the musical typing.
-
I learned a few of the keys from a Beginner's Guide to Music theory .
-
As I felt alittle confident after going through, I did practice making melodies in popular songs.
achievement
-
Music is hard to approach, it is different for a lot of people that's why there are so many genres
-
But I didn't learn this to make good sounding music, I want to use music to express first
-
Using based on colors and feelings each season gives
testing
These two are first full tuned tracks after many tries
Hard to make
-
From a beginner, it is definitely hard for me to make sounds and mash-up, just because it is in a higher pitch so it sounds happier.
-
After learning just basics, it is hard to make cohesive sounds so instead, I found how to make basic melodies.
-
After making so many tracks, I am still unsatisfied. Instead of sticking to a piano as the main sound I should use other instruments and make use of Garageband potential.
Instruments
-
Not only the key range is important, so is the instruments
-
I still use the piano for my musical type but I changed the tempo & instruments that I thought was fitting
-
The top picture is the last track I made & bottom is the first season track I made
-
For summer the notes are shorter and higher they consist of the same key range
-
As for Winter, there are groups of ranges & higher notes with long reverb sounds like ice.
Visual
-
I made 2 video clips as the visual aid for soundtracks
-
One is to mimic the colors you will see when you have chromatic senses ( Made in aftereffects)
-
And other is feelings for soundtrack drawn into a short animation ( Made in photoshop )
